Types of Nephrological Disorders

• Medical History: Reviewing the patient's medical history, including symptoms, risk factors, and family history of kidney disease.
• Physical Examination: Conducting a thorough physical examination, including blood pressure measurement and assessment for signs of fluid retention.
• Diagnostic Tests: Ordering diagnostic tests such as blood tests (including serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen), urine tests (including urinalysis, urine protein-to-creatinine ratio), imaging studies (ultrasound, CT scan, MRI), and kidney biopsy when necessary.

Treatment

• Medication Management: Prescribing medications to control blood pressure, manage diabetes, reduce proteinuria, or treat underlying conditions contributing to kidney disease.
• Lifestyle Modifications: Advising lifestyle changes such as dietary modifications (reducing sodium, limiting protein intake), weight management, regular exercise, smoking cessation, and limiting alcohol consumption.
