Juvenile Dermatomyositis affects mostly children, creating inflammation & weakness in muscles (Myositis) and skin rashes (Dermato). It is a rare autoimmune disease. A group of immune system cells protect the body by fighting against the infections. In autoimmune conditions, these cells attack the body's own tissues and cells. In Juvenile Dermatomyositis, the cells of the immune system damage the muscles and skin.
Juvenile Dermatomyositis commonly occurs in children under the age of 16. Girls are more likely to be affected than boys. The disease starts at the age of seven, on average, among children. Juvenile Dermatomyositis is found worldwide, It is more common in the spring and summer. The cause of this condition has not been figured out yet. Researchers think it may be due to infection and genetics. The immune system started to fight the infections, attacking the body's own muscles and skin as well. In Allopathy, no recovery has been found yet.
